I'm Bill from TrekConvention dot com, and welcome to the TrekHeadlines five to Watch. The podcast where I highlight five Trek Headlines you may have missed.

It's Friday October 18th 2024, so let's get to it.

- Number 1: Great news for Star Trek Voyager fans. According to Red Shirts Always die "Another major Star Trek: Voyager star is coming back!" And apparently Starfleet Academy has a new professor.

- Number 2: I never realized that the team at Star Trek Enterprise toyed with the idea of looping Shatner into the mix, but Slash Film reports "The Real Reason William Shatner Didn't Return As Kirk In Star Trek Enterprise." And I have to say it was news to me.

- Number 3: Red Shirts Always Die reports that "Gene Roddenberry couldn't get work after Star Trek The Original Series was cancelled." I guess it's not surprising but still, it's a shame and luckily the dry spell didn’t last long.

- Number 4: It was bound to happen, but Bleeding Cool points out the "Star Trek T-O-S and T-N-G Films Exiting Paramount+ for New Streaming Homes." I guess times are tough in the streaming universe.

And finally Number 5 Me TV's Time Capsule Trivia asks - "The first Star Trek convention was held in what year?" Test your Trek convention knowledge, and see if you can guess.

That's all for this episode.
As always you can find all these articles and the latest updates at TrekConvention.com and, of course, at TrekHeadlines.com. -
Be sure to check back next week for five more to watch.

Until next time - go boldly.
